Regarding our foundation programme, your first class will be what we call our basics class. You learn how to prepare body, breath and mind for meditation.
Time is spent teaching correct posture for meditation. This includes showing you how to attune to head, neck and spine straight, how to prepare your seat (either with blanket, bench or chair) how to relax in the posture and how to direct your attention for a beginning meditation.
The sequence of steps before sitting is also taught with postures that establish diaphragmatic breathing. These include the makarasana pose and shavasana posture.
Correct breathing is constantly emphasized and you are taught how to check and observe yourself so that correct breathing is taking place
After this initial class, additional classes and sessions are held in support of it, with daily sessions of diaphramatic breathing and relaxation. Inspiring and educational videos and lectures are also included to assist your learning.
